Anna Seeber Shaw often uses still life to tell the story of certain people that she has met. This series, which includes, The Weary Traveler, Always A Woman, He Sure Didn't Mind, and The Girl Back Home is just such a story. The Weary Traveler represents a certain type of man who travels a hard road and he travels it alone... until he meets a certain woman. She is a strong woman, a tough woman, who does what needs to be done... but she is always a woman. When they meet the electricity flies, she tosses her necklace, spills his whiskey, but hey, he sure didn't mind. The end of the story comes with our traveler back out on the trail. He has unsaddled his horse, laid out his bedroll, and every time he brews his coffee, the smell takes him... to the girl back home.
