A solar eclipse occurred near sunset for North America June 10, 2002.

I set up my 6" Newtonian reflector with eyepiece projection to view the eclipse.

These successive pictures show the progress of the first 45 minutes of the eclipse.....

An interesting point came when the advancing lunar limb covered sunspots......

KC0JAO, N0XJ and their kids enjoyed the event with us.

Here's the situation map for the solar eclipse of June 10 2002. Colby KS was right on the line where the eclipse ended at sunset.

For us it was a moot point, as a cloud bank took away the last 4 minutes.
