A NOTE FROM THE PRESIDENT
It happened again ONE BIG NICE SHOW. And what made it happen??
I wish I could list everyone and everything they did to make this show go so well. This would be impossible because no one can no how much work each individual must have done. Every phase came off almost perfect. There lots and lots of comments on how well the show was set up. And how well it was organized. Almost everything came off on time as scheduled, with very little trouble. Several members were overworked, but thanks to their generosity it all worked out well.
The threshing crew led by Charley Rexwinkle looked like professionals. Bill Cole, Steve Young, Richard Foster, Mike Davis, Shannon Gay, and several others were involved. The hay baling also went without trouble; (All you had to do was screw out the magneto switch to make it start. The rock crusher guys had a hot time and crushed so much they had to go get more rock. The people mover was sharp with the new flag. Thanks guys.
The tractors lined up neat and wearing new magnetic numbers thought up by Hugh Hadley, made the tractor parade easier to announce. Only one pull was needed.
The food concession stands and everything under the tent was taken care of by the ladies in very good order. Several ladies spent a hot Friday and a little cooler Saturday helping in the check in tents.
Steve and Donna Ernest, Terri Wilson, Lou Naccarroto with several volunteers ran the tractor pull with over 100 hooks without a flaw.
I could write all day about things that happened and the many people that made them happen.
We had a record number of tractors on display and maybe a record crowd.
There is no way I can say thank you that would reach everyone that did so much, But to you all, the blacksmiths, weavers, musicians, wood carvers, the parkers, the flea marketers, the engine people and the members that helped make this the greatest show yet THANKS we do appreciate your efforts. Now off to the new show grounds.
Thanks Bill Ernest, President.
( This was supposed to run right after the show)
