Norman Riley Holeman, 65, Caney, KS died Friday, Jan 14, 2005 at the Freeman Hospital in Joplin, MO from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan 18, at the Caney Church of Christ.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Caney Valley Antique Power Association and these remembrances can be left at the Penwell-Gabel Graves Chapel in Caney.
Norman was born Dec 22, 1939 in Caney, KS, the son of John R and Lucy (Cassity) Holeman. He has lived in Caney his entire life.
Norm served in the United States Army earning his nursing degree specializing in infectious diseases. He was the owner and operator of Holeman's Concessions for many years in Caney. He also was a member of the Caney Valley Antique Power Association and the Caney church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Jo Holeman; two sisters, Carla Roth and Wanda Gilreath; and one brother, Sam Holeman.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Holeman of the home in Caney; two daughters, Linda Beard of Fredonia and Julie Russell of Independence; one stepdaughter, Ruth Ann Bambico of Dallas, TX; one stepson, Lee Burge of Atchinson, KS; three brothers, David Holeman of Bartlesville, OK, Dale Holeman of Caney and Danny Holeman of Coffeyville; one sister, Patty Clark of Scappose, OR and nine grandchildren.
Penwell-Gabel Graves Chapel in Caney is assisting the family.
Norm will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
