This Just In . . .The following article, previously written, outlined why NCCC SUCKS! believes NCCC is breaking state statute. We have recently discovered how the college can afford to give all those athletes scholarships. It seems that they are putting all those fees students pay on top of tuition, into Gate Receipts. Now under state law, these funds are not considered to be public funds. However, the statute specifically prohibits scholarships, offered by community colleges, from going to out of state students. When will the Board of Trustees begin to investigate these irregularities? Is NCCC violating Kansas laws? You decide for yourself . . .
Kansas statute 71-203 reads; The following pictures and roster are of the NCCC basketball team, exactly as printed in the Chanute Tribune. Below those is the roster which lists the player's home town. You will notice that seven of the fourteen players are from out of state. Now we know, that everyone on this team has a scholarship. It sure looks to us like NCCC is in violation of the law, but then you'll have to decide for yourself. To top everything off, Nolan McBride has been implicated in a riot after a recent game, and was suspended for one game. Oooooo, bet that hurt. One measly game. Teams from NCCC have now been responsible for 2 riots in Chanute. Don't know about you, but we sure think that it is time to stop this nonsense, and close down the sports programs at NCCC. You may move your cursor over the pictures to see the player's name.
Link to Kansas Statute 71-203Kansas has changed its web site, and the statutes can no longer be directly linked too. You will have to fill in the statute number where prompted. We are trying to clean the mess up. |
