    Q: How much does it cost?

    A: The Residential service is 69.99 per month on a 1 year contract, and 59.99 per month on a 2 year contract. The Business editions vary, please email sales@carrollsweb.com for more information.

    Q: I already have a satellite, do I still need to buy the equipment?

    A: Yes you do, as this is a new type of equipment and dish itself. The equipment fee is $770.00, a one time fee. This is a two-way system as opposed to the old dial return systems, so the old equipment would not be compatible.

    Q: I have setup a DirecTV satellite myself, can I install this one myself too?

    A: No this system needs to be installed by a certified HSI installer and cannot be started unless that is the case. The standard install fee is $200.00, a one time charge, with other expenses incurred should issues arise. From the time the system is ordered, it could be up to 3 weeks before the installation date due to having a certified installer put in the system.

    Q: What types of computers will this work with?

    A: This system will only work with computers running Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP, have an available USB adapter, have at least 128mb of RAM, and a processor that is at least 333Mhz in speed.

    Q: I wish to network this satellite, can I do that?

    A: Yes you can, but from a support standpoint we will only make the computer directly tied to the satellite work, and the rest is up to the customer.

    Q: I am interested, can I finance the equipment?

    A: Yes you can, click Here and this link will take you straight to a online application, and when approved you will be notified by the bank. Any questions you have about the financing can be addressed through the bank as well.

    Q: Where is the satellite available?

    A: As long as you have a clear view ( no trees, buildings or other obstructions ) in the way of the southern hemisphere, you are within the area of availability for the satellite system.

    Q: I travel and would like to put on my RV, can I do that?

    A: No due to the fact that the satellite is carefully aligned to a very specific spot in the sky when it is installed. Every time it is moved it will lose signal, and have to be realigned. Since you have to be a certified HSI installer to reposition the satellite, traveling with this system would be impossible, like wise for over-the-road carriers and the like.

    Q: What type of speeds can I expect?

    A: That truly depends on signal strength, cloud cover and other variables. It can go up to 1 Mbps downstream and up to 128 Kbps upstream under ideal conditions. But just like other broadband offerings out there, the speed will fluctuate with number of users and time of day as well.
