| Q: How do I sign-up/have Carroll's Web host my site? |
A:
The first step in signing up is deciding which of our hosting packages you need to use. You may look at the Web Hosting Package/Features/Pricing List for a basic idea. Or give us a call and we'll be more than happy to help you select a package that works best for you. After choosing your package you will need to register a domain name for your new site if you don't have one already. This may be done at several place. Networks Solutions, Go Daddy Go, Register.com, and Dotster are a few Registrars where you may do this.
Once registered you may contact us and let us know what package you would like, your domain name, and your current e-mail address. We will get some additional information and set up your space, DNS hosting, and send you a confirmation e-mail once your space is setup. The E-mail will have settings that will need to be entered in with your registrar to have DNS correctly working.

| Q: Will Carroll's Web Register a domain name for me? |
A:
No. At this time we leave the registration and management of a domain to the customer. This way the ownership of the domain remains with you rather than another company that you must go through to changes made. To register a domain one might visit one of the following registrars:
Networks Solutions, Go Daddy Go, Register.com, and Dotster. Carroll's Web does not endorse one regisrar more than another, as long as you are able to specify our name servers as the domains name servers.

| Q: I already have a domain name that I would like to use, may I use it with Carroll's Web, Web Hosting? |
A:
Yes. Carroll's Web will have no problem using your existing domain name as long as you make sure to specify our name servers as the primary and secondary nameservers with your registrar. The DNS Servers should be as follows:

| Q: What Operating System/Enviroment will my page be hosted off of? |
A:
We use a solution that is platform independent, seamlessly supporting both Windows and Unix web enviroments. This means that you will not have to choose between Windows and UNIX hosting packages. You will enjoy combined benefits of both Windows and UNIX hosting.

| Q: Will Carroll's Web design and maintain my site for me? |
A:
Not at this time. Carroll's Web will provide the resources, web space, and web tools to make your site great, but designing the site and maintaining it is completely up to you. We will be more than happy to assist with technical problems on the site or basic questions but making the site come to life is completely left in your hands.

| Q: I want to upgrade to another package, how can I do so? |
A:
Upgrading your current Web Hosting package is a very easy process. Just contact us and let us know what plan you would like to upgrade. The upgrade is under normal circumstances instant.

| Q: What your uptime Percentage? |
A:
We have a 99% uptime percentage on our hosting servers.

| Q: What kind of connection/backbone do the servers that will host my page exist on? |
A:
We use multiple redundant Internet connections, currently provided by UUNET, LOOK Communications and Sprint are implemented through the use of BGP4 (Border Gateway Protocol). We monitor and upgrade bandwidth as needed. Our multiple routers are made redundant through the use of Cisco's HSRP (Hot Swappable Router Protocol). Our server clusters use multiple load balancing hardware, designed for failover in the event of a load balancer fault.

| Q: Where do I go to manage my web site online? |
A:
To manage your site, add e-mail accounts, check site statistics, view logs, manage databases, change security settings and passwords, and more you may visit our online site management site located at http://hosting.carrollsweb.com. There you will find two links. One to your site management (WebSite OS4) and one for general support on the WebSite OS. You will need to know your domain and the master password you specified when you signed up for hosting.
Please note that only the following webhosting packages are able to use these services:
Bronze Webhosting, Silver Webhosting, Gold Webhosting, and Platinum Webhosting.

A:
Most packages include full CGI access, with MySQL and MS Access databases, ASP, ColdFusion, PHP, SHTML, and Perl including all common modules.
